Step 4. Set Expense Timeline

When the user clicks the Set Expense Timeline Parameter button the following popup is displayed.

The popup contains 2 pages; 1. Operating (shown above) and 2. Capital (not shown but looks the same as the Operating tab)

Note: that the Operating and Capital pages are indentical the only difference is the type of expense.  Operating expenses are distributed over time where capital expenses are single (altough there my be several of these for a given captial expense item) point expense items.

For example, suppose a Project Manager’s expense is $120,000 annually the the monthly amount is $120,000/12 or $10,000 per month. If the Project Manager comes onboard in the 4th project month the user enters a 1 in the timeline field correesponding to the Project Manager and the 4th project month. For operating expenses the $10,000 Project Manager expense will begin in teh 4th project month and continue every month after that until another value is entered on the time line for the Project Manager. Putting another 1 one the timeline will increment the timeline value by another $10,000 so then the timeline amounts would be $20,000 per month.
